- Polycarbonate (PC) hollow plate, also known as sunshine board, is made of high-performance engineering plastic PC resin and has the following features: high transparency, light weight, impact resistance, sound insulation, heat insulation, flammability resistance, and aging resistance. It is a high-tech, highly energy-saving and environmentally friendly plastic plate material with excellent comprehensive performance, which is widely used as a plastic building material internationally.
Brief introduction to plate extrusion line:
The PC (Polycarbonate) plastic hollow cross-section plate extrusion line is a sophisticated manufacturing system primarily comprising key components such as an extruder, a T-die, a three-roller calender, a cooling bracket, a vacuum calibration table, a haul-off unit, a double-sided film coating device, a cross-cutter, a robotic hand, and an advanced electrical control system. This comprehensive setup is specifically engineered for the production of PC hollow cross-section plates, also commonly known as sunshine boards, which are highly valued for their lightweight, durable, and transparent characteristics. The extruder serves as the heart of the operation, melting and extruding the PC resin material under controlled conditions. The T-die precisely shapes the molten plastic into a hollow cross-sectional profile. The three-roller calender then flattens and smooths the extruded material, followed by the cooling bracket that rapidly cools it to maintain dimensional stability. The vacuum calibration table further ensures precise thickness and flatness of the plate by removing any residual air bubbles or imperfections.
The haul-off unit, guided by the electrical control system, pulls the cooled plate through the process at a consistent speed, ensuring uniform quality throughout. The double-sided film coating device applies protective films to both sides of the plate, safeguarding it from scratches and damage during subsequent handling. The cross-cutter, operating with precision, slices the continuous plate into desired lengths, ready for packaging or further processing.
The integration of a robotic hand adds automation to the production line, efficiently handling and stacking the cut plates, minimizing human intervention and enhancing productivity. The electrical control system, the brains of the operation, orchestrates the synchronized movement of all components, ensuring seamless and stable operation.
This extrusion line boasts remarkable stability during operation, capable of running continuously for extended periods without significant downtime. It offers high output rates, making it ideal for large-scale production demands.
Product performance:
The PC sunshine board produced by our company’s equipment boasts excellent light transmittance, comparable to that of glass. It also features robust impact resistance, light weight, flame retardancy, sound insulation, and energy efficiency. Additionally, the plate comes with a UV-protective layer on either one or both sides, which effectively guards against ultraviolet rays and exhibits superior outdoor weather resistance.
- It has excellent light transmittance, with a transmittance rate ranging from 25% to 86% depending on the color.
- Its impact resistance is 80 times that of glass, making it difficult to damage during installation and use.
- UV-resistant: Produced through a three-layer co-extrusion process, its surface is covered with a high-concentration UV absorber, providing long-lasting weather resistance. The panel maintains good physical properties at temperatures ranging from -40°C to 120°
- It effectively reduces noise.
- It is lightweight, weighing only half of glass of the same thickness, which saves on building structural costs and labor.
- It has good processability, allowing for cutting with woodworking tools or by hand, and can be cold-bent to fit various shapes.
- It exhibits good energy-saving properties, with a potential energy-saving capacity 1.7 times that of glass of the same thickness.
- It has excellent weather resistance, maintaining high transparency and low yellowing after ten years.
- It is flame-retardant, classified as a non-flammable material.
